Privacy Policy

WinuxDB is a community-driven project dedicated to mapping Windows application compatibility on Linux. We value transparency and your privacy.
1. Data Collection
WinuxDB collects minimal information to provide its services. When you create an account, we store your nickname, avatar (via social providers), and preferred language. For compatibility reports, we store the hardware profile you choose to share. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
2. User Accounts
We use social authentication (Google, GitHub, Discord) to simplify account creation. We only receive basic profile information required to identify your account and display your contributions.
3. Data Storage & Management
Your hardware profiles and reviews are stored in our secure database. You can manage, update, or soft-delete your hardware profiles at any time. When a device is soft-deleted, it remains in our database to preserve historical review data but is no longer linked to your active profile.
4. Local Storage & Preferences
We use your browser's local storage or minimal cookies solely to maintain your session and remember your language preference. This data is essential for the site to function correctly.
5. External Links
Our database contains links to external websites (e.g. ProtonDB, Are We Anti-Cheat Yet?, GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party services.
